The Mi Box 4K provides a huge collection of apps and games for your TV. It comes with a handful of preinstalled apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube. It also has the Google Play Store from where you can install the rest of the apps for your Android TV. The device comes with built-in Google Chromecast functionality similar to the Chromecast Ultra and supports casting at up to 4K resolution. You can either mirror your screen or cast directly from supported apps on compatible devices. You can also plug a USB drive into the MI Box 4K to play local content. However, the box doesn’t have a pre-installed media player app but some popular file manager apps on the Google Play Store for Android TV are capable of playing content in various file formats and resolutions, including HDR content. The Box also supports streaming at up to 4K resolution, with support for HDR up to the HDR10 standard. However, it lacks support for the better Dolby Vision standard which holds back the Mi Box 4K a bit, especially when the market offers some televisions priced under Rs. 30,000 supporting the 12-bit standard.HDR10 is worth the money if your TV supports it. The device also supports Dolby audio and comes in handy when connected to televisions or sound systems that also support the audio format. The Mi Box 4K also features the Google Assistant for which there is a dedicated button and microphone on the remote. You can also link it to other Google Assistant devices for audio instructions. The Mi Box also has a data saver function that reduces bandwidth consumption while streaming.
