Design

As it is Lenovo, it doesn’t leave us disappointed with its slick and slim design which comes in five different colours; Platinum Grey, Abyss Blue, Cherry Red, Almond, and Business Black. All the colours are great and very eye-pleasing, the best ones have to be Abyss Blue and Cherry red, these colours are much more eye-catching and out of the ordinary than the other colours.

The dimensions of the laptops are; 36.2 cm in Width, 25.32 cm in height, and 2 cm in depth. It is also fairly light-weighted and comes at 1.85 kgs. The display on this laptop is 15.6-inch FHD LED Backlit Anti-glare IPS Display, which comes at 250 nits Brightness, and a 16:9 Aspect Ratio. The laptop has a matte finish which looks really great, it has a fingerprint scanner at the top right side of the laptop above the keyboard. One great thing about this laptop’s keyboard is that it comes with a numeric keypad embedded in it, which is a lot of laptops nowadays have forgone.

The laptop has a small Lenovo logo on the right side of the front lid and a small one on the inside of the laptop. One bad thing about this laptop, that might irk the buyers is that the speakers are placed at the bottom of the laptop which could compromise the quality of the audio. It has two USB 3.1 (Gen 1) port, one USB 2.0, an HDMI out, the power port on the right side and an SD card reader, a Novo button and a 3.5 mm audio jack on the left side. A good thing about the Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3i is that it has a physical webcam shutter which is great if your laptop ever gets hacked but it also can provide you with privacy. All in all, look-wise it’s a typical Lenovo laptop and it looks great.

Features

The Lenovo Ideapad slim 3i has three different configurations of models with three varying Intel processor; it has Core i3, Core i5 and, Core i7, all of which are 10th generation. It also comes in another different configuration of processor, which is; AMD Ryzen 7 4700U Mobile Processor. The price varies and depends on which configuration of the processor you are buying. For this review, I would be reviewing the Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3i which has the Core i7-10510U Processor 10th Generation Processor, it clocks at 1.8 GHz base speed and can go up to 4.9 GHz. The resolution for this laptop is 1920 x 1080 Pixels.

The operating system is Windows Home, it has a base memory of 8 GB that could be expanded to 12 GB DDR4, it also has the storage of Up to 1TB HDD SATA, 5400rpm, 128GB PCIe SSD M.2 and, Up to 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD dual storage. The camera quality is 0.3M and it comes with a physical shutter; the laptop also has a fingerprint scanner that works effectively and fast. The audio system is 2 x 1.5W speakers Dolby Audio. The laptop has the connectivity technology of Wi-Fi 2x2 AX and Bluetooth 5.0.

The graphic processor is Intel Integrated UHD and the chipset is Intel SoC, the battery life isn’t bad either and is made up of lithium-ion which is powered up to 45 W/Hr and will last you till at least 7 hours while in use.

Final Opinion

The Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3i is a good laptop that comes with good features. It’s a good budget laptop that will be good for any students or professional who will use it for document work or net browsing, if you have chosen a model which is below Core i5, then you might not be able to use it for anything much else. But if you have chosen the other versions, gaming and other heavy-duty things would be possible on the laptop. It simply depends on which version you are choosing.

But the better the version you choose, the costlier the laptop would be. So be ready to shell out some bucks if you want the better version, otherwise, it’s a lovely laptop with great configuration. The look is also really great and would not leave you wanting. But other than that, the laptop doesn’t really stand out from the rest of its competitors.

Writing is a fun way to express myself when oftentimes spoken words fail me, Writing my thoughts and ideas don't. Writing something, that challenges someone's perspective or views is something I aspire to do. I wish to make impactful and lasting words that will ascribe in the minds of the reader and aspire them to think upon or deepen their perspective on their world views.
