OnePlus Nord Review

OnePlus launched the Nord Series model in the market recently and it comes much cheaper than their Number Series, coming in mid-range then the higher range of pricing the Number Series Models have, yet the Nord Series still retains great features, performance, longer battery life and it even supports 5G. Even after knowing all this, if you are still unsure of buying this model then read this review and get to know the model better and then you can make your mind up.

OnePlus Nord comes in three different colours; Blue Marble, Gray Onyx and Gray Ash. The best-looking one between these colours without no confusion is the Marble Blue, the colour is pretty and reminds you of a clear blue sky. The back material is made up of a Glass sandwich with a polycarbonate frame, it is glossy and looks beautiful. The phone is also slim and has dimensions of;15.83cm in height, 7.33cm in width and 0.82cm in-depth, it is also fairly light-weighted and weighs up to 184 grams.

The display screen of OnePlus Nord is 6.44 inches and has a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels 408ppi, and has the configuration of Fluid AMOLED. It also has a refresh rate of 90 Hz which is fairly fast and also supports sRGB, Display P3. The screen is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone has 4 cameras that are on the left side inside an oval/ rectangle black casing. It has a USB Type Port C on the bottom of the phone, the volume and the power button on either side.


OnePlus Nord comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon765G and octa-core of Kryo 475 processor of up to 2.4GHz. The GPU is Adreno 620. The performance for the phone is smooth and fast and it can also run several applications smoothly and without hanging, gaming on this phone is also pretty good but it will consume your battery pretty fast. Speaking of battery, it is Lithium Polymer with the capacity of 4115 mAh with Warp Charge 30T, fast charging (5V/6A), the battery does leave you a little wanting when compared to the powerhouses of batteries that Xiaomi’s phones have.

The video configuration of the back cameras is of 1080P video at 30/60 fps, 4k 30 fps and the features include; Super slow motion: 1080P video at 240 fps, Time-Lapse: 1080P 30 fps, 4k 30 fps and Video editor. Other modes for the back camera for Photo or video taking comprise of; CINE aspect ratio video recording, UltraShot HDR, Nightscape, Super macro, Portrait, Pro mode, Panorama, AI scene detection, RAW image, Filters and Quick share. OnePlus Nord also has a dual flash on the back.

OnePlus Nord has two front Cameras; the first one is a 32 MP with the Sony IMX616 Sensor, Pixel Size of 0.8 µm/32M; 1.6 µm (4 in 1)/8M, EIS, Autofocus is Fixed Focus and the Aperture is f/2.45. The second one is an 8 MP, Ultra-Wide-Angle Lens, with the Aperture of f/2.45 and the Field of View of 105°. The video configuration of the front camera is of 4K video at 30/60 fps, 1080P video at 30/60 fps and Time-Lapse. other features for the front camera comprise; Face unlock, HDR, Screen Flash, Face retouching, Filters and Ultra-wide selfie.

OnePlus Nord supports 5G, 4G and Bluetooth 5.0, which are all great connectivity configuration to be had. The sensors on this phone are; In-display fingerprint sensor, Accelerometer, Electronic compass, Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor and Sensor Core. Which are all great for the price they are coming for. The fingerprint unlock and face unlock on this phone are fairly fast and smoothly transpires. OnePlus Nord also has a dual SIMs feature, which is a plus point for any phone as it is quite practical to have dual SIMs. The audio features on OnePlus Nord are; Superlinear speaker and Noise cancellation support. It supports a standard Type-C port for earphone.

The display quality is also very good and has three modes; Video enhancer, Reading mode and Night mode, all of which works very well. OnePlus Nord also has an inbuilt Alexa which you can later download via Google Play Store. The box of the OnePlus Nord will include; the Handset, Screen protector (already applied), the Warp Charge 30 power adapter, Warp Type-C cable (Support USB 2.0), Quick start guide, Welcome letter, Safety information and warranty card, Brand sticker, Phone case, SIM tray ejector, Highest SAR value & Plastic recycling card, and a Red Cable Club Membership card.

Final Opinion

For the price it's coming for, OnePlus Nord is an amazing phone with great features and performance. The camera is also great and you can take great photos and selfies for your Insta with it. It also looks good and stands out in your hand, especially the Blue Marble model, the phone doesn’t look cheap but premium instead. The only problem with OnePlus Nord would be its battery which drains really fast. So, in conclusion, the phone is good and well worth spending Rs. 27,999.
